With apps like Snapchat that alert the user.
You don’t want her to know that you screenshotted her profile.
Let’s find out if she will find out.
What do people tend to screenshot on Tinder?
MESSAGES
The most common type of screenshots taken on Tinder is a message.
I’ve taken hundreds of screenshots. You’ve seen quite a few on The Pickup Pros.
Often, it’s one of many reasons.
- You received a phone number, Snapchat, or Instagram.
- A match sent a funny message or GIF.
- A match sent a dumb message.
- You don’t know what to say in a conversation
Taking a screenshot is a great way to share how a conversation is going with close friends.

Screenshoting a profile is common in the dating app community.
See a funny picture?
How about a great bio that stopped you in your tracks?

Tinder users screenshot for several reasons.
Share Profile With Friends For Guidance
Screenshots sharing is common among close friends when coming across a great match.
You don’t want the cute blonde to ghost you after sending the first message.
So you don’t know what to open the conversation with (I always did this when I first started using Tinder).
Instead of bugging your friends on what to say.
Or relying on Reddit or other dating websites.

Funny Profile
These profiles are becoming more and more popular as a way to stand out and garner attention.
Like the bad profiles, you often see funny profiles on Tinder’s Reddit or a popular blog online.
Whether that be for its pictures or bio.
You can use some of the elements of a funny profile to improve your bio.
Should You Take Screenshots
It’s up to you.
I say go ahead, at the end of the day it doesn’t affect your profile in any way.
Users don’t get notified, and Tinder doesn’t penalize your profile.
I take screenshots all the time & it hasn’t hindered my Tinder experience.
SCREENSHOT ETIQUETTE
Tinder is a public app. But that doesn’t mean you should avoid someone’s privacy.
When posting a profile or message online you should blur the name and face of the match.
Facebook groups (You should join ours) & Reddit are not private.
A match might feel embarrassed that her profile is being shared.
If you are sending a screenshot in a personal message, you don’t have to blur the name or face of the match.

What Happens if Someone Screenshots Your Tinder
Nothing happens!
You will never receive a message or notification that someone has taken a screenshot.
What Happens If You Screenshot Someone’s Tinder
The share her profile notification might scare you (it did for me at first), but like above, Nothing happens!
Taking a screenshot leaves no notification.
You are free to take as many screenshots as you see fit.
This is the opposite of apps like Snapchat and Instagram where users know if there has been a screenshot.
How To Take a Screenshot on Tinder
Android
Using the button shortcuts to achieve this.
- Press the Power and Home buttons at the same time.
- Hold both buttons for a second, until you hear a shutter sound or see a screenshot visual.
This can take a few tries to get down, but once you’ve done it a few times it becomes straightforward after.
IOS
If you are an Apple user screenshotting is quite simple.
Press and hold the Power button on the right side and click the home button at the exact same time.
Desktop / Computer
Taking a screenshot on a computer depends on the type of keyboard linked to it.
Windows
For most windows based computers tapping the PrtSc key will take a screenshot.
If there is another function linked to the key, press Alt + PrtSc.
Mac
If you are a Mac user Press Shift-Command-5 on your keyboard to see the onscreen capture controls:
Computer Programs
You can also download a program like Lightshot.
It works for both Windows & Mac.
And it allows for more customization.
It’s free and my personal choice when I’m on a desktop computer.
Final Thoughts
Don’t fret over a potential Screenshot notification.
It doesn’t exist.
